Kristie is an incredible facilitator, presenter, teacher, mentor and coach who grounds all of her work in steadfast values like joy, equity and relationships . She has an uncanny ability to support people to reflect, consider and learn different perspectives and feel motivated to try something new. Kristie will consider each person’s perspective, experience, and position within a given audience, what matters to them, what may be keeping them from fully engaging, what may be creating distrust or guardedness and then develop strategies to meet people where they are, create an environment of trust and empathy while discerning where some may need a nudge and encouraging learning and growth. She invites and is genuinely open to feedback to iterate and improve. She is always learning herself. I was struck by how she approaches this work with the long game in mind – grounding work in values, being deliberate and prioritizing people and their pace over trying to meet an external timeline for change. I learned from Kristie how to become a more intentional and thoughtful facilitator and leader. She taught me concrete skills, then she demonstrated them in our day to day work environment and I trusted her to reach out to have 1:1 informal conversations to reflect and support each other.
